Studio Envie is led by Jennifer Carter, who has more than 15 years of construction and design experience, following a successful corporate career. Growing up in a family-owned commercial construction company, Jennifer has been walking job sites since a young age. Her passion is fueled not only by creating beautiful spaces, but the constant problem solving and collaborative effort required on site to bring paper dreams to life. Jennifer holds an interior design degree from Parsons, The New School, in addition to a degree in communications from the College of St Rose and additional coursework in business and marketing at Harvard. She leads Studio Envie’s office from Northern New Jersey where she lives with her family. .
margaret Pickron
Designer and Project Manager
A lover of art and design, Margaret has nearly two decades of experience in the fashion and interior design industries. With this background, she brings a keen eye for excellent design and optimal functionality to Studio Envie's clients. Immediately prior to joining Studio Envie, Margaret was a designer and organizer for Apartmentjeanie, a luxury organizing and interior design firm in New York City and Charleston, SC. A former senior director of men's merchandising at Ralph Lauren, Margaret spent twelve years immersed in the fashion industry, working on various men's luxury labels and on partnerships with the USTA, USOC, and PGA of America, among others. Margaret holds a bachelor's degree (cum laude) in art history from Sewanee: The University of the South, studied art history at Syracuse University in Florence, Italy, and has taken courses in interior design at Parsons School of Design through its School for Continuing and Professional Education. Margaret is married to her college beau with whom she shares two wonderful children. She enjoys immersing herself in a great book, digging in her garden, re-learning violin, and a brisk hike with her yellow labrador, Biscuit.
Kate DesPlaines
Procurement Manager
Kate joins Studio Envie after nearly a decade in communications and alumni roles at prestigious private education institutions. Throughout her career she led event management and coordination, from intimate dinners to large-scale affairs. She also leveraged her training as a graphic designer to create and develop administrative content and marketing collateral, which ultimately led her to further explore a move into the design world. Working closely with Studio Envie's design team, Kate is a Procurement Manager, facilitating and overseeing all orders placed in our firm. In addition to playing a crucial role in our smooth installation and client experience, Kate also drives many of our operational and accounting initiatives. Kate lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
MEG PALABRICA
Retail Merchandiser
Meg joins Studio Envie after leaving her career in the luxury retail world. During her career she was responsible for developing and leading operational initiatives across a nationally recognized American fashion brand. Prior to joining the operational track she spent several years on various merchandising and buying teams helping curate and assort accessories and apparel product selection in brick & mortar stores. Meg attended the University of Maryland. In her spare time she is busy renovating her 1898 farmhouse in Maplewood, New Jersey and running her small sustainable home décor and candle business, JB Home Company. Meg and her husband are the proud parents of three young boys.
